The DDD team at the Wellcome Sanger Institute wishes all families participating in the project well in these stressful and uncertain times as the Covid-19 pandemic affects the UK and much of the world.

A new Covid-19 information hub has been launched for anyone affected by genetic, rare or undiagnosed conditions. This hub will be updated daily as new information becomes available – people can check for relevant information via UK nation, condition specific information (where available), for adults or children or just general updates. There is also a practical resource section.

You may be interested to know that the Sanger Institute, where the DDD samples were processed, is now collaborating with expert groups across the country to analyse the genetic code of COVID-19 samples circulating in the UK, providing public health agencies with a unique tool to combat the virus.
